The Spring/Summer shows are our absolute favourites…and yet again these fashion weeks delivered impressive results. We noticed some common trends and new tendencies within the big 4 fashion cities; sports luxe is apparently here to stay, accompanied by a 50s revival of the French Riviera, tulle and big bows also made and impressive entrance for a super feminine look. NEW YORK – Sports Luxe at Milly, Vichy checks and 50s revival at DVF and Delpozo, soft shades at The Row and Summer knits and rain coats and Victoria Beckham and Michael Kors.
LONDON – Everyday lounge wear at Giles, New York in the later 80s at Sibling, beautiful highly feminine fabrics at Burberry Prorsum, Topshop Unique and Marchesa, experiments with 3D printing at Peter Pilotto and summer leathers at J.W. Anderson.
MILAN – Ode to Spain at Dolce & Gabbana, oversized bows at Bottega Veneta and Marni, beautiful boho chicness at Etro, full on fringes at Marco de Vincenzo and warm tropical prints at Stella Jean.
PARIS – Bon chic bon genre at Christophe Lamaire, colour blocking at Cedric Charlier, full on denim at Anthony Vaccarello, ladylike transparencies at Rochas and Yang Li, pretty ballerinas at Gareth Pugh, and last but not least an underwater sensation at Dries Van Noten.
