PARIS FASHION WEEK FW 2014 REVIEW

This Parisian fashion week closed off the fall winter 2014 presentations. The most memorable of all was without a doubt the Chanel show. Karl Lagerfeld created a super-chic-market where models were browsing through the aisles filling up their branded shopping baskets whilst presenting the new collection.

This week in the City of Lights offered some recurring trends, as seen in New York, London and Milan, as well as some innovative ones, here they are!

DROP SHOULDER – the feminine narrow shoulders are so last year! next winter will be all about broad shapes, as seen at Louis Vuitton, Giambattista Valli, Stella MCCartney and Acne Studios. We particularly love the metallic accents, what do you think?

MAXI COAT – Vivienne Westwood took the concept of maxi coats to a whole new level, more urban were Chloe, Celine and Isabel Marant’s interpretations…we absolutely love them!

WILD THING – Animal prints and furs were done drastically different by these top designers. Alexander McQueen opted for dramatic/haunted forest looking outfits, when Saint Laurent made it cool and hip, Givenchy went for the layers and Carven for the lady like look. Which one is your Fave?

MID CALF SKIT – While we saw lots of retro inspired mini skits in Milan Fashion Week, Paris seemed to be more prude, long skirts were everywhere, either sleek looking (like at Christian Dior) or wide and girly at Comme des Garçons, Valentino and Emanuel Ungaro. We absolutely adore them!
