Festival Fashion

That season is upon us once again… yup it’s festival time. Are you one of the many fashionistas who will be grabbing their Hunters and hitting muddy fields across the UK in the name of music? Isle of Wight, Download and a multitude of day festivals (Radio 1 Hackney, Field Day, Lovebox, the list goes on…) have already taken place but there’s more to come from 2012. The biggest question on everyone’s minds (minus the thought of will it/won’t it be torrentially raining all weekend) is what on earth to wear. Here’s my ultimate festival outfit; guaranteed to be fashion forward and practical.

First you need a statement piece, I’d grab these divine Alice by Alice Temperley high waisted leather shorts with embroided hem – shorts are a staple for any festival, whilst the leather fabric and cute scalloped hem make them bang on trend. Team with Joseph’s Garcon off white sleeveless shirt for a tailored yet quirky monochrome look. Beat the chills with Beautiful Soul’s red and grey yoshie coat, then pull on the red accent from the jumper with these pillar box red Osten Hunter wellies. Any festival go-er knows that any shoes other than wellington boots are 100% out of the question and their over the knee cut means that they can be rocked with tights or with bare legs. Finally, I’d toughen up this look with some intense bold bling, picking Katie Rowland’s sandstone knuckleduster, Lara Bohinic’s cuff and Chanel’s vintage pendent.

You’re prepped for a weekend of love, mud and debauchery – just remember my mantra of (short) shorts, (tailored) shirts, (bright) wellies and you’ll be set!
