Everyone in our office fell in love with the vivid colours and fun patterns of the Look Z bikinis. We ran a competition where followers went crazy for the swimwear brand and now we’ve sat down with Urszula, founder of Look Z, to find out the secrets of our beloved bikini label.

1. When did you start to work on the brand?

Look Z was established in 2013. I am a kitesurfing practitioner and I have always been passionate about summer holidays; I love getting in touch with nature and doing sports. When my boyfriend came back from a holiday in his home country Brazil, he brought me a few bikinis as a present. I fell in love instantly with the sexy cut and perfect fit. I soon realised that there was a gap in the European market for Brazilian shaped bikinis, fine materials and intricate and exclusive patterns. Having graduated in BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology Womenswear and MA Digital Prints from London College of Fashion, I had the necessary confidence and skills to create prints for exuberant and self-confident women.

2. What is the most exciting thing about your job?

The most exciting thing about my job is the creative input I have on a daily basis in various areas of the business; meeting amazing people and travelling to breath-taking exotic places. I also enjoy the dynamism one has working in different areas such as: marketing, press, sales, design etc.

3. Where do you draw your inspiration from for each collection?

Most of my inspiration and design ideas come from elements of nature, especially exotic animal skin, which I find particularly fascinating.

4. What attracted you most to THEN AND NOW?

THEN AND NOW is an amazing London-based online retailer with a well-designed website. It has a fantastic range of international luxury brands and a world-class service.

5. What are your future plans for the label?

At the moment our main focus is to continue developing our unique prints and shapes. We are currently expanding our products range with fabulous resort wear and beach accessories. Stay tuned for release dates!
