Spa Experience London – Bethnal Green
Spa London is amongst the first affordable spas to offer a full day experience in London. Before 2007 (which is when Spa London first opened) the city had only seen pricey or luxurious day spas.
The place offers steam rooms, Turkish hammams and plunge pools.
The one in Bethnal Green isn’t the only Spa London in ‘the Big Smoke’. The second and newer opening of Spa London is located in Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre. Although this branch does offer various services and a good-value treatment menu, it does not offer a real full day spa just yet.
For the readers of ‘Complitely London’ there is the opportunity to win a spa day package for two, offered entirely by Spa London.

Aromatherapy Associates Rose Infinity Facial – The anti-ageing treatment began with a cleanse, then a gentle natural enzyme peel to resurface the skin. A ‘non-surgical facelift’ followed using micro-currents from the Aromatherapy Associates facial machine to stimulate the skin and allow deep active moisturisation that dramatically plumps and reduces fine lines.
The treatment finished with a bespoke massage to stimulate circulation and a scalp, neck and shoulder massage to relieve stress. My face felt fresh and glowing and actually slightly ‘lifted’. The lines around my forehead had definitely reduced. One of the most effective anti-ageing treatments I’ve tried.
Oriental Harmony – Four hands work in unison in an experience that inspires a harmony of the senses. The treatment begins with a soothing foot bath in purifying waters, leaving the feet soft and supple and the mind relaxed. Next two therapists work together in time and movement. First, providing a warm scrub that smoothes and replenishes the skin, and later a harmonious massage that balances the body. The treatment concludes with a simultaneous head and foot massage leaving the mind uplifted, the body energised and the skin exotically fragrant.
Mandarin Oriental Experience – Inspired by the hotel’s oriental origins, the treatment includes a welcoming foot ritual, a signature spa therapy and a Utopia advanced anti-ageing facial.
The Porchester Spa – Royal Oak
Based in a 1920s building, it was refurbished in 2006 giving the whole place a different and more modern look. This is one of the most affordable spas named in this list. In fact, locals and non-locals frequent this place even just for a twenty-minute massage or a facial.
Some of the treatments mentioned above are discounted for those who reside within the surrounding facilities or in Royal Oak.

Chuan Spa – Oxford Circus
The last spa on our list is London’s first luxury spa, situated in the Chinese Medicine Centre. Their distinguishing treatment is the Chuan Balancing treatment. All you’ll have to do is answer a list of questions and wait for the result. Once you’ve done so, a therapist will treat you to a massage that is said to be so relaxing, it puts fifty percent of people to sleep.
We hope we’ve provided a comprehensive list for those in need of some TLC. If you’ve taken our advice and visited any of the above, we would love to hear your feedback. Please also feel free to share this list with any workaholics you know who might need it!
